Old guys playing with pride

The season is going south quickly for the Buccaneers, but you couldn’t tell by watching Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks play.  These guys are all over the football field trying to help their team win.  Barber is leading the Bucs with 29 tackles and Brooks is second with 28 tackles and an interception.  Some of the young Bucs should be learning from the older guys, who are playing hard no matter what the score is.

Bucs hopeful of QB’s return…..

No, not Chris Simms.  Luke McCown could be ready to come off the PUP list on October 22.  McCown could compete for playing time when he comes back as he was the favorite to be the #2 QB before he injured himself.  He played well as a rookie for the Browns, even though, he was clearly out-manned with the players the Browns had behind him on offense.

Bucs need more than a week off

This has been a nightmare season for the Bucs.  They decided to go with Chris Simms and he was horrilbe (1 TD and 7 INT) before having his spleen removed after taking a severe beating at the hands of the Panthers.  The Bucs can use the week off!  Cadillac Williams can use the time to give his back a rest, as he only has 107 yards rushing and is only averaging 2.5 yards per carry.  The offensive line needs tutored more on how to pass block and run block.  Most importantly, rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski has 2 weeks to get ready to face the much improved Saints defense.  Gradkowski was great in the pre-season, but alot of guys that were playing defense against him in those games are bagging groceries somewhere right now.

The Buccaneers are going to bring Shaun King and Tommy Maddox in for tryouts in the next couple of days.

Rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski is the new Bucs starting QB as Chris Simms will be out 2-3 months after having his spleen removed after taking a brutal beating at the hands of the Carolina Panthers.
