Bucs shock the Bengals with 14-13 victory
Young Qb Bruce Gradkowski led the team on a drive at the end of the game that culminated with an 8 yard TD pass to Michael Clayton to win the game with 35 seconds left. What was impressive about that was how Gradkowski led the team down the field after being shut down for 3.5 quarters. Gradkowski completed 25 of 44 passes for 184 yards with 2 TDs and an interception. Gradkowski also carried the ball 4 times for 19 yards (4.8 ypc). Cadillac Williams had a solid game carrying the ball 19 times for 94 yards (4.9 ypc). Joey Galloway caught 7 passes for 67 yards. Michael Clayton is developing good chemistry with Gradkowski as he caught 6 passes for 55 yards, including the game-winning TD. TE Alex Smith caught 3 passes for 10 yards and a TD.
The Bucs played solid team defense against the Bengals. DE Ellis Wyms had 4 tackles and 2 sacks. The Bucs defense got tough against the run, holding the Bengals to 53 yards on 20 carries (2.7 ypc). The pass defense had some trouble with the Bengals passing game as the Bengals completed 24 of 37 passes for 252 net yards passing.
The Bucs got a huge victory…..what a game!

Enjoy your win, Tampa Bay. If it wasn’t for the so called “roughing the passer” call in the 4th, you wouldn’t have won. I notice that the description of the game winning drive didn’t include the sack called for a penalty. Without that, there wouldn’t have been a finish to that drive.
I somewhat agree with you. But, that’s the rules in today’s NFL. All the Bengals had to do was stop them, and they couldn’t do it.
Stop whining. The Bengals scored only 13 points and couldn’t stop the Bucs when they needed to. Rudi and Chad were held in check all day. The Bucs D won that game. That one call didn’t determine the outcome. Besides, according to the rules, it was the right call. The guy had he sack, he didn’t need to throw the QB to the ground. If you want to blame anything, blame that.
I agree with you William. All the Bengals had to do after the penalty was keep the Bucs out of the end zone….and they couldn’t do it, so they didn’t deserve to win. Give credit to Gradkowski and Clayton…they deserve it.
