5. (141) Greg Peterson, DT/DE
This was a pick for depth by the Bucs as Peterson will be a project for the future. He’s a tweener as he’s a little small for tackle and a little too big for end. He is 6′5″, 286 pounds and he runs a 4.73 40 which is pretty quick for a man his size. He has problems fighting through double teams in the running game and that could be a huge problem for him in the NFL if he’s playing at tackle. Peterson dominated at North Carolina Central but he will need time to adjust to the gigantic leap in competition that the NFL will have waiting for him. Peterson played in 24 games at North Carolina Central and he made 104 tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss, had 10.5 sacks, forced 3 fumbles, recovered 2 fumbles, batted down 2 passes and intercepted one.Â
