The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired Raheem Morris

The Buccaneers have fired 35-year old head coach Raheem Morris and his whole coaching staff.  The Buccaneers finished 4-12 on the season and they are currently on a 10-game losing streak.  The Buccaneers averaged 17.9 points per game this year and they gave up a pathetic 30.9 points per game.  Morris was also the defensive co-ordinator for the Bucs this year!  The Buccaneers were 17-31 (35.4%) in Morris’ three years in charge.  The Buccaneers got outcoached almost every week over the last three years, so Morris had to go.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waive Zac Diles

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Sunday 4 December 2011 at 12:42 pm

The Buccaneers have waived 26-year old linebacker Zac Diles.  Diles played in 7 games for the Buccaneers this year and he had 1 tackle.  He has now played in 57 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has 224 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 inteception and 3 passes defensed.  This isn’t going to be much of a loss for the Bucs, as Diles literally didn’t help too much with 1 whole tackle.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waive DT Frank Okam

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Thursday 24 November 2011 at 3:19 am

The Buccaneers have waived 26-year old DT Frank Okam.  Okam played in 6 games for the Bucs this year and he had 10 tackles.  Okam played in 9 games in his two years with the Buccaneers and he had 22 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss and 1 fumble recovery.  The Buccaneers like the players they have recently signed better than Okam, so they won’t miss him too much if at all the rest of the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waive LS Christian Yount

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Wednesday 26 October 2011 at 7:22 pm

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have waived 23-year old long-snapper Christian Yount.  Yount played in 7 games for the Bucs this year.  29-year old Andrew Economos will replace Yount.  Economos played in all 16 games for the Buccaneers last year.  He has played in 67 games (0 starts) in his first five years with the Bucs.  I have a feeling that Ecomomos is going to be a huge improvement over Yount the rest of the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waive Allen Bradford

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Friday 14 October 2011 at 12:39 pm

The Buccaneers have waived 22-year old rookie RB Allen Bradford.  Bradford played in 1 game for the Bucs and he carried the ball 5 times for 13 yards (2.6 ypc).  Bradford was a 6th round pick out of USC last April.  The Bucs needed Bradford’s roster spot to activate safety Tanard Jackson.  If Bradford clears waivers, the Bucs might sign him to the practice squad.

UPDATE:  (10/15/2011) – The Buccaneers have lost Allen Bradford on waivers to the Seahawks.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign a long snapper and they release one

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Thursday 15 September 2011 at 1:58 am

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed 23-year old Scott Albritton to be the new “starting” long snapper.  He will replace 23-year old Christian Yount out of UCLA who has been released.  Yount played in the season opener for the Bucs against the Lions last weekend.  He didn’t appear to screw anything up in his NFL debut, but he still got cut.

UPDATE:  (9/17/2011) – The Buccaneers have re-signed Christian Yount and they have released Scott Albritton.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers release two defensive players

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Sunday 4 September 2011 at 2:16 am

The Buccaneers have released 24-year old DE Kyle Moore and 25-year old LB Tyrone McKenzie.  Moore played in 7 games for the Bucs last year and he had 18 tackles and 2 fumble recoveries.  He played in 15 games in his two years with the Buccaneers and he had 28 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 pass defensed.  McKenzie played in 3 games last year for the Bucs as a rookie and he had 5 tackles.  This is probably a good sign for the Bucs that they felt they didn’t need these guys anymore.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waive Sabby Piscitelli

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Wednesday 1 December 2010 at 1:53 am

The Buccaneers have waived 27-year old safety Sabby Piscitelli.  Piscitelli played in 11 games for the Bucs this year and he had 19 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception.  Piscitelli played in 45 games in 4 seasons with the Buccaneers and he had 150 tackles, 14 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and 5 interceptions.  This really says something about how little head coach Raheem Morris must think of Piscitelli due to the fact that he would rather start Corey Lynch over him with Cody Grimm out for the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers release Ryan Sims

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Thursday 25 November 2010 at 10:46 pm

The Buccaneers  have released 30-year old DT Ryan Sims.  Sims played in 6 games for the Bucs this year and he had 4 tackles.  Sims played in 46 games in parts of 4 seasons with the Bucs and he had 69 tackles, 3 passes defensed and 3.5 sacks.  The Buccaneers have a lot of younger D-linemen that they like better than Sims to it made perfect sense to let him go.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers release OG Keydrick Vincent

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Buccs News,Front Page,General Buccaneers Talk,Leaving Town by admin on Friday 29 October 2010 at 11:17 am

The Buccaneers have released 32-year old guard Keydrick Vincent who has started 5 games for the Bucs this year.  Jeremy Zuttah will go back to left guard to replace Vincent.  Zuttah has played in 6 games (2 starts) for the Bucs this year.  Rookie Ted Larsen will replace Zuttah as the starting center until Jeff Faine is ready to return to action.  Larsen has played in 2 games (1 start) for the Bucs so far this year.
