The over/under for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wins in 2011 is 8

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 10-6 last year, but they were only 1-5 against winning teams.  The Bucs had a good draft but they added next to nothing in free agency to further improve the team.  This year, the Bucs have 8 teams that had losing records last year on the schedule for 2011.  They also have an 8-8 Jaguars team that cut their starting QB yesterday.  Still, I have a feeling that 8 wins is about right on the money for the Bucs.  I would pass on making a bet on them, but if forced to do so, I would make a small bet on the over.

The over/under for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wins in 2010 is 5.5

The Buccaneers won 2 of their last three games last season to finish 3-13.  Looking at this year’s schedule I don’t think they are going to improve much, if at all in 2010.  Raheem Morris seems over his head as a NFL head coach and the Bucs didn’t spend any cash on free agency this year as the league doesn’t have a salary cap in place for 2010.  I would take the under for the Buccaneers in 2010 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them picking first in the NFL Draft next April.  The Buccaneers are 175-1 to win the Super Bowl and even Raheem Morris wouldn’t put $10 bucks on that happening in 2010.

The over/under for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wins in 8 for 2008

I don’t see where the Buccaneers have gotten better in the off season while the Saints and Panthers have reloaded.  With that in mind I have to take the under with the Bucs.  Everything would have to go right for the Bucs to win the NFC South again in 2008 and I just don’t see it in the cards.

The over/under for wins is 7 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007

This just isn’t going to happen.  The Bucs should be better than last season but they would need Jeff Garcia to play like a Pro Bowler all season to win more than 7 games this season.  The Bucs did improve the defense in the draft and free agency so they could surprise.  But, I would bet on the under.
